As a company built from two family businesses, we take our work and mission quite personally here at Murray-Heutz, but sometimes the work gets more personal – and more special and meaningful – than others.
One of those times happened earlier this month when we visited the home of the Holts – long-time Murray-Heutz customers who just so happened to be recipients of this year’s Spread the Warmth project.
Working with Catholic Charities Maine, we delivered and installed a new heating system for the Holt family to help them in their time of need. It had been 30 years since Randy Murray himself installed their previous heating system, so they were long overdue for an upgrade.
“With the way the wind blows from the northeast, it gets very cold and the old furnace wasn’t keeping up,” says Ms. Holt, who no longer has to worry about staying warm on frigid Maine nights. “I am very happy to have the new heater.”
Not only will the furnace keep the house warmer, it will help Ms. Holt save on her fuel bill because it is more efficient.
It was great to work with Catholic Charities to help keep a family warm and safe this winter, and for many winters to come. Giving back to our community is important to the folks who make up the team here at Murray-Heutz – including our wonderful team of Jeff Bilodeau and Ross Trepanier, who installed that new furnace, and everyone else here who makes days just a little warmer for the people we serve.
You can help by making a donation to the Spread the Warmth campaign! Every winter, Catholic Charities Maine receives dozens of calls per month from people who need help keeping their home warm. Your donation will be used to help additional families in need. If we raise enough money, we will purchase more heating systems and donate our time to install these for our neighbors in need. Your donations may also be used to help families pay for their heating fuel. Contact us today to learn more!
